“How often have I bought expensive toys for my dogs only to discover, once more, that nothing compares to the play unleashed when we are going for a walk in our neighbourhood with its lawns, ditches and mouseholes.
My dogs want to be challenged and stimulated and the key ingredient of excellent play is the hunt for food using their noses and paws.
The hunt stimulates their curiosity and spirit of adventure. Using their noses and paws, the dog’s most basic senses will be stimulated and when they find and eat the food, they are simply enjoying their prize.
GREEN has been developed with all of these factors in mind, and my dogs love it already. Of course, it can’t replace a walk outside but it’s wonderful to be able to continue playing and hunting when we get home.”

“Small dog breeds and puppies have their small size in common and for that reason NORTHMATE now launches GREEN mini as a new, small version of the original GREEN.
GREEN mini is an interactive feeder just as the original GREEN and again the main focus is to reduce the risk of gulping and bloat.
Most dogs are able to eat far more and much faster than what is healthy. This behavior is driven by instincts and we control it by dosing each portion of food.
In order to get a healthy dog it is however equally important to control the speed of consumption. This is done by complicating the access to the food.
GREEN mini complicates the access to the food – but it doesn’t hide it. When dogs searches and hunts for food in nature every obstacle becomes an active part of the game: The forest is doing the opposite of hiding the prey – it’s actually guiding the dog along a track made of smells and sounds.”

CATCH – The nature of cats
“One of the most fascinating things about cats is their complex nature – being both domesticated pets and wild nature from nose to tail.
During daytime they’re loving members of our families with scratches behind the ear and sleepy moments at the lap. During night – however – their instincts tell them to go hunting for mice and birds around the neighborhood.
It’s obvious that one of the greatest challenges for any cat owner is to make a home which manages to reflect both sides of this double nature.
Not all cats have free access to outside environments – and even fewer are able to hunt around the neighborhood at night.
Thus, many cats live a great deal of their life indoor without being able to follow their most basic instincts.
In NORTHMATE we believe that this modern dilemma is in fact quite easy to solve: If it’s not possible for the cat to follow its instincts outdoor then this should be made possible indoor.
